The Government is “striving to effectively utilise the skill set and reach of community pharmacy”, according to Theresa May.

In a letter read out at the Sigma conference, the Prime Minister said the Government through the NHS Long Term Plan wants to “build upon the innovative success of community pharmacy”.

“Through increased collaboration and partnership, we can develop a stronger role for community pharmacy, making sure we encourage more people to use local pharmacies,” she added.

She thanked community pharmacists for their “continued hard work and dedication” and said the sector is “a vital part of the healthcare system”.
